CLuB Researchers Attend Summer Schools

From August 7th to 25th 2023, Dr. Szilárd-Krisztián Belényesi MD, attended the Extracellular Vesicles in Health and Disease Summer School, organized at the University of Aarhus, Denmark. While there, he gained hands-on experience with genetically engineered EVs and their uses in his research.

Dr. Belényesi is a PhD candidate at the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Trinity College Dublin, based at the Trinity Biomedical Sciences Institute. Under the guidance of Professor Lorraine O'Driscoll, he researches EVs in the context of liquid biopsies, aiming to find new diagnostic or prognostic markers.

From August 28th to September 1st, 2023, Dr Seán Patmore attended the Amsterdam Vesicle Center EV Flow Cytometry Summer School, Amsterdam UMC, where he learned to optimise EV detection through flow cytometry for use on clinical samples.

Dr. Patmore is a Post-Doctoral Researcher at the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Trinity College Dublin, based at the Trinity Biomedical Sciences Institute. Dr. Patmore recently updated his CLuB fellow researchers at a group seminar on the information captured during his experience at Amsterdam UMC. Dr Patmore also works under the guidance of Professor Lorraine O’Driscoll (CLuB Founder and Lead Investigator).
