CLuB Wins Prestigious Awards at the IACR Satellite Meeting 2024 in the RCSI

On February 26th, 2024, CLuB’s young researcher, Ms Faye Lewis, won the Patrick G. Johnston Award for Excellence in Cancer Research at the IACR 60th Anniversary Satellite Meeting in the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland (RCSI).  Ms Lewis was one of six early career researchers who had been selected based on their lay abstract submissions to IACR 2024. Ms Lewis participated in a patient communication workshop before IACR 2024 and prepared a lay presentation on her work.  The title of Ms. Lewis’s presentation delivered on the day to the audience and the judging panel was ‘Ovaryacting; How tiny cells could uncover big secrets about cancer.’

CLuB colleague Dr Mark Ward, a Research Fellow in the Department of Histopathology at Trinity College Dublin, was awarded the EACR Senior Researcher Prize at the recent 60th IACR meeting for his work on the "Prognostic significance of circulating tumour cells (CTCs) and circulating tumour DNA (ctDNA) in high-grade serous ovarian cancer."
