CLuB Showcases at TSJCI Christmas Research Blitz

The Trinity St James’s Cancer Institute (TSJCI) held its Christmas Research Blitz in the Durkan Theatre, Trinity Translational Medicine Institute, on December 8th, 2023. The event was opened by CLuB Founder and Lead Investigator Prof Lorraine O’Driscoll, who gave an overview of TSJCI Research and announced round 2 of the CREST Research Stimulus Awards.

CLub PhD candidate Dr. Krisztián Belényesi, MD delivered an excellent presentation on “Extracellular vesicles in the context of liquid biopsies from cancer patients,” and CLuB’s esteemed colleague Dr. Mark Ward presented “ Utilising the prognostic significance of circulating tumour cells (CTCs) and circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in cancer.” Ms. Marika Kanjuga (Research Assistant) presented a poster titled “HE4 as a Surrogate Marker of Cytoreduction in Ovarian Cancer". Overall, there were twenty excellent presentations on the day -many by early career researchers - exemplifying fundamental, translational, and clinical cancer research.
