The Trinity St James’s Cancer Institute (TSJCI) held its 2nd Research Day on September 17th in MISA’s Davis Coakley seminar room. The event was an internal forum to highlight the depth and breadth of cancer research across Trinity College Dublin and St James’s Hospital and to bring people together to share ideas and foster new collaborations. CLuB’s Founder & Lead Investigator and TSJCI Research Lead, Professor Lorraine O’Driscoll, opened the event. Professor O’Driscoll also co-chaired the session on Molecular and Precision Oncology.
CLuB’s Post-Doctoral Researcher, Dr Ezgi Oner, delivered a presentation on “3D Bioprinted Patient-Derived Lung Cancer Models: Bridging the Gap Between Laboratory Research and Personalized Therapy”.
During the event, Ms. Volga M. Saini, CLuB PhD candidate, presented on the topic "Comparison of Different Circulating Tumour Cell (CTC) Enrichment Technologies and Enumeration of CTCs in Patients with Resectable Lung Cancer," while Ms. Faye Lewis, also a CLuB PhD candidate, discussed "Does size matter for liquid biopsies in epithelial ovarian cancer?"
CLuB’s esteemed colleague Dr Mark Ward presented “Using liquid biopsy to better understand immunotherapy and antibody-drug conjugates in triple-negative breast cancer.”
